What are the Different Fluids in Your Vehicle and How They Work?

What are the Different Fluids in Your Vehicle and How They Work?

Just like how we need fluids to stay hydrated, your vehicle does too! To maintain your vehicle's fuel economy, longevity, and drivability, you need to keep proper fluid levels. There are nine different fluids in your vehicle. They each play an important role in your vehicle's overall performance and safety, regardless of your vehicle's make or model.    Here are the nine different fluids in your vehicle and how they work:    Gas: We are all familiar with this fluid! Unless you are driving an electric vehicle, you need to have gas, seeing as this fluid powers your engine. If your vehicle doesn't have enough fuel, you won't be able to go anywhere.  Oil: There are a thousand different moving parts in your engine all operating at fast speeds and high temperatures. Oil is responsible for minimizing any friction in your engine. Without oil, all these parts would grind together and generate excessive heat.  Coolant/antifreeze: Is ... read more

It’s Love Bug Season! How To Prepare Your Vehicle

It’s Love Bug Season! How To Prepare Your Vehicle

Even though our lives may be a little different than how we expected them to be this month, Mother Nature is still in operation, and we are beginning to see those pesky love bugs out and about! Some of us may think these love bugs are quite cute and adorable, but they can wreak absolute havoc on our cars. Lovebugs are starting to make their Spring appearance, but there are steps we can take to make sure these highly-acidic bugs don’t show our cars too much of their love.  Here is how to combat the influx of love bugs:  For best results, wash them completely off your vehicle’s surface as soon as possible, as their acidity can quickly erode your car’s paint within days. Try not to use your windshield wipers and washer fluid to eradicate those love bugs. You will find yourself with a flurry of bug parts!  There are many commercial cleaners out there that can adequately clean your vehicle and wash away those love bugs. Super Clean, Simple Green, and Spray ... read more

How Safe Are Your Brake Lines?

How Safe Are Your Brake Lines?

Did you drive back up north for the holidays, and then back down south for some fun in the Cape Coral sun? If your answer is yes, then you most likely were exposed to snow and salted roads. The snow and salt can take a toll on your vehicle, specifically your brakes and/or brake lines, and just like how you are looking for some rest and relaxation in Cape Coral, your car is most likely too.  If you are experiencing any of these signs, it means you need to schedule a visit to Premier Auto Service Center in Cape Coral, FL. Here are signs your brakes and/or brake lines just aren’t very safe:  If your vehicle is leaking fluid, it doesn’t necessarily mean it is coming from your braking system. Brake fluid is generally clear in color, or it may be auburn and brown if it is old. When you touch, it will feel very similar to paint thinner, and when you smell it, it will smell like fish oil.  If your brake fluid light is flashing, it means that your electrical brake ... read more

We Celebrate Veterans Day

We Celebrate Veterans Day

Veteran’s Day is a day to set aside and honor all American veterans, both living and dead. On November 11, 2019, we will recognize the sacrifices that veterans made when keeping our country free. Many confuse Memorial Day with Veterans Day. Memorial Day honors the fallen, while Veterans Day honors both the fallen and the living. We are fortunate to live in a country that holds time-honored values of bravery, liberty, and independence. We want to use our November blog to honor and appreciate our Veterans. We recognize the sacrifices you made to ensure we can continue to live freely in our country. We don’t want to think about where we would be without you. We appreciate everything you have done and continue to do.  Veterans Day is always on November 11, no matter what day it is. This year, it will be on a Friday. We will all take this day to honor both our fallen and alive Veterans, and we hope you do the same. We want all our clients to be safe ... read more
