What Does The Suspension Have To Do With The Steering?

What Does The Suspension Have To Do With The Steering?

Photo by F. Muhammad from Pixabay   Your car slips along the roads as you do your errands with grace, or perhaps, with not so much grace. If you’re driving a Cadillac, you might feel more like you’re floating than running balanced on four wheels. When you turn the wheel, the car pulls out of this dream in mere degrees, depending on how sharp your turn is.   Have you ever wondered what a car’s suspension has to do with its steering? These two systems work in tandem with each other as your vehicle moves. There are many issues at play, like whether or not your suspensions are dependent or independent. A/C System vs. Cooling System, why is cooling my vehicle more than just the a/c system

A/C System vs. Cooling System, why is cooling my vehicle more than just the a/c system

Cooling system problems cause 40% of engine failures, and 100% of discomfort in a hot car on a summer day is caused by A/C system failures. Both your cooling system and A/C system are responsible for maintaining a cool temperature, but the similarities stop there. Because both systems are essential to both your safety and comfort, it is important to know the difference between the two.     Your cooling system uses coolant or antifreeze to keep your engine from overheating even on the warmest days in Cape Coral. Your A/C system uses refrigerant, also known as Freon, to keep you and your family from overheating on hot, sticky summer days.    The leading cause of summer breakdowns is, in fact, overheating. Your cooling system operates by delivering the liquid coolant or antifreeze through passages in the engine. As this liquid flows through your radiator's thin tubes, hot liquid is then cooled by the air stream entering your engine from the vehicle's front ... read more

What Happens To Your Tires When They Do Not Have Proper Air Pressure?

What Happens To Your Tires When They Do Not Have Proper Air Pressure?

The Premier Auto Service Center team wants to make sure you take time to take care of your tires. It is easy to forget about your tires when you think of other systems in your vehicle, such as your braking system or your transmission system. However, your tires are one of the most critical components of your vehicle. Tires that aren’t properly maintained are partially responsible for 11,000 crashes each year.    These crashes, most likely, could have easily been prevented with basic tire care. Basic tire care starts with proper tire pressure. If your tire is overinflated, it will become stiff, rigid, and won’t have as good as traction, which in turn, could put your tire in danger when encountering potholes or other debris on the road. The excessive air pressure could also lead to an explosive flat tire.    Overinflated tires aren’t the only problem either -- underinflated tires can be an issue too. When your tires are underinflated, the tire&rsquo ... read more

What are the Different Fluids in Your Vehicle and How They Work?

What are the Different Fluids in Your Vehicle and How They Work?

Just like how we need fluids to stay hydrated, your vehicle does too! To maintain your vehicle's fuel economy, longevity, and drivability, you need to keep proper fluid levels. There are nine different fluids in your vehicle. They each play an important role in your vehicle's overall performance and safety, regardless of your vehicle's make or model.    Here are the nine different fluids in your vehicle and how they work:    Gas: We are all familiar with this fluid! Unless you are driving an electric vehicle, you need to have gas, seeing as this fluid powers your engine. If your vehicle doesn't have enough fuel, you won't be able to go anywhere.  Oil: There are a thousand different moving parts in your engine all operating at fast speeds and high temperatures. Oil is responsible for minimizing any friction in your engine. Without oil, all these parts would grind together and generate excessive heat.  Coolant/antifreeze: Is ... read more

Fuel System Cleaning

Fuel System Cleaning

Over time, debris, dirt, and residue can build up in your fuel system, and a clogged fuel system almost has a domino effect, resulting in damage to other parts of your vehicle’s engine. Not only can it cause damage, but it can also lead to diminished performance and fuel economy. If left unchecked, a dirty fuel system can even lead to an engine shutdown.    The team at Premier Auto Service Center strives to ensure this doesn’t happen with routine fuel system cleaning. Your fuel system has three main parts: your fuel filter, fuel pump, and fuel injectors. Each of these components works together to ensure fuel travels from the fuel tank to your fuel injectors, which will ultimately disintegrate in your engine. The final result is an accurate mixture of air and fuel that combusts upon a spark and powers your engine.    Dirt and debris can affect even just one part of this interconnected system, such as your fuel filter. However, even if one component is clo ... read more

Why Wheel Alignments Matter

Why Wheel Alignments Matter

First and foremost, the team at Premier Auto Service Center would like to wish each and every one of you a safe and healthy New Year! We couldn’t be more appreciative of your continued support during these tough times, and we look forward to seeing you and servicing your vehicle in the future.    If you look out onto the road, you will see a variety of different cars zooming by. You will see various makes, models, colors, year, and the list can go on and on. Despite these differences, these cars have one thing in common -- their wheels need to be properly aligned!    When your vehicle’s wheels are properly aligned, it will drive in a straight line without pulling to one side or the other. Properly aligned wheels ensure your tires wear evenly, which also means your tires will last longer. Your vehicle will leave the factory with its wheels properly aligned, but unfortunately, they don’t stay that way.    When driving through Cape Coral, FL ... read more
